An Irish woman who runs a cosmetics brand whose name is synonymous with racism is speaking out against criticism of her company and saying she’s simply doing her job.
A spokesperson for Macys said the company was aware of the comments and would take steps to ensure it does not happen again.

“And our customers know that we’ve always supported them and been there for them and that’s something that we’re proud of.”
She said Macys cosmetics products were made in Ireland and the company’s origins were from the island of Macross in the South Atlantic.
“The name Macyss was the name of the ship which was built by Macrosses brothers and the island was named after him,” she added.
“So it was the place where the Macross family lived and it was very much a place where they were born and grew up.”
She added that her company was proud to represent Irish people, with its products being made in America.
“What people don’t realise is that it’s made in the Republic of Ireland,” she explained.
She also revealed that her husband was an American citizen who had lived in the US for more than 30 years and that she was proud of that.”
