Frazier fur greens are always a beautiful little touch to any mantel. After hanging the greens. I often feel the need to add a little red in there. So I will either get some of those little red balls or berries or whatever they are to get a little substance in with that greenness. Besides the little berries. I also may try a classic red bow or ribbon. Add a few candles and the mantel looks very festive and attractive.
Mosaic. Bring the wall out to be flush with the ventless fireplace unit. Then. decorate with small tiles creating a mosaic of your own design. Use small mirrors. or silver glittery tiles. Go with different colors and splash them all over the wall. It just might be the most fun you`ve had in awhile.
Mirrors. Use large mirrors over the fireplace. They reflect the light from the room. They make the room look larger than what it actually is. If you live in a small apartment. that`s a great technique to use.
Tie wired gingham-checked ribbons into bows. and attach them to the edge of your mantel. Let the ends of each bow hang down various lengths from one to three feet. At the end of each ribbon. open a plastic egg. tape the ribbon`s end inside the egg. and force the egg shut. This creates a set of eggs dangling at different heights.
